5G Mobile Technology

Today’s world is going through technological evolution. Computers, smartphones, and tablets – we really can’t seem to function without them. Back in the early 90s, no one would have believed to use the internet for the daily use, but now, we all are using the internet on our smartphones and it has become an integral part of our life. We don’t know how sophisticated these machines will be a century from today.

Our creations require power, fuel, raw materials; globe-spanning networks of information. During the initial stages, we used to access the internet using 2G technology, then came 3G and now we are using 4G and the most updated and superfast 5G technology is set to roll out soon. Technology is not only about technology itself or more efficiency and discovering new methods and processes.

Decoding 5G Technology

The term 5G is used to describe the next-generation of mobile networks. It is typically a technology that is beyond LTE mobile networks. It is the latest iteration of cellular technology, engineered to offer faster than existing connections, with average download speeds that is much higher than 2G, 3G, and 4G.

The highly-advanced 5G technology is the latest version of mobile networks that have evolved from 1G to 2G, 3G, 4G. Unlike lower-frequency microwave band the earlier generations use, the fifth-generation wireless (5G) networks use high-frequency radio waves in the millimeter-wave band. 5G is an investment for the next decade and in previous mobile transitions. Higher data speeds are now warranted for applications such as streaming video, video conferencing, and virtual reality. 5G technology has the capability to offer consistent, uniform and uninterrupted connectivity across the world.

Why 5G Technology is Considered as the Game-Changing

  • 5G mobile network is a hundred times faster than the existing 1G to 2G, 3G, 4G connection and ten times faster than our speediest home broadband service.
  • 5G mobile network provides a 10x decrease in latency, 10x throughput, 3x spectrum efficiency, 10x connection density, 100x network efficiency, and 100x traffic capacity.
  • Using a 5G network will be able to browse the web, download files, and watching high-speed virtual reality video with no delays or glitches.
  • 5G will have greater capacity, meaning the networks will be able to cope better with many high-demand IoT applications all at once.
  • Easily controllable with previous generations and sound to support heterogeneous services including private network.

When will 5g technology be available to the consumer?

The fifth-generation mobile wireless technology is still not consumer-ready. In spite of that, the global race to introduce 5G networks is on. In some parts of the USA is witnessing 5G use but that too in a limited version, but it won’t take much time for full-fledged use until 2020. South Korea is the major player in getting 5G coverage to the masses. Countries such as China, Japan, UK, and India are also making their preparations for launching 5G technology. The worldwide use of 5G technology might take place before 2022.

Final Thoughts

According to mobile technology experts, with the growing use of new ultra-smart devices, we need better mobile technology. In this regard, 5G technology will play a pivotal part and will become the most effective element in our tech-driven world. The future of mobile technology is even more interesting than what is happening right now.
