We finally have a crime show led by a female character and produced by BBC. The series follows the story of Carey Mulligan, a detective based in London who is leading the murder investigation. A pizza delivery man has been murdered and his background is yet unknown. The man was either a refugee or an immigrant which helps the director portray the issues of immigration and race in Britain. This netflix series is full of intrigue, humour and simple nuances that the audience will love.
2. Punisher
The TV series Punisher was launched in 2017 and was carried on till 2019. It follows the story of Frank Castle who takes revenge for the death of his daughter and wife. As an antihero, he fights crime. But that isn’t even the beginning of it all. Castle discovers the entire conspiracy of injustices that have taken place. 3. Mindhunter
Mindhunter is a series inspired by true events. It is set in the 1970s and follows the story of two FBI agents who work in the Department of Behavioural Science. The agents, Holden Ford and Bill Tench conduct a series of interviews with serial killers to understand the mindset of such people. They are trying to create a basic profile of serial killers, their working and understanding why they do such things to help catch more of such people. Produced by David Fincher, it is a must-watch.
4. Manhunt: Unabomber
FBI gave the investigation of Ted Kaczynski the name of ‘unabomb’ and the media started referring to Ted as the Unabomber ever since. Manhunt: Unabomber, as the name suggests, is about Ted and the series of bombings that took place in the USA. It took the FBI almost twenty-year to catch him and that too when Ted’s brother turned against him and helped the FBI.
The show is set in the 1990s, right when it all took place in reality and the viewers are impressed with how definite and accurate the portrayal is, of the characters and the storyline.
