Golf fans, at least, got to see Tiger Woods on a golf course, and under the lights on a Saturday night, even if it wasn’t as exciting as some had anticipated.
In the seventh edition of The Match, played at Pelican Golf Club near Tampa, Florida, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas defeated Woods and world No. 1 Rory McIlroy 3 and 2 in 10 holes.
Although Woods had a few excellent moments, Spieth and JT dominated the competition in his first competitive outing since making the cut at the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews in July. The winning pair made seven birdies between them to seal the victory. There was a total of one for Woods and McIlroy.
